Google Chromebook One-to-One Laptop Program
All 6th through 12th grade students are provided with a Google Chromebook for use in the classroom and for homework. Google Chromebooks are web-based laptops loaded with Google apps rather than software. A Chromebook requires wireless Internet access in order to function and is lighter and smaller than most laptops, but still has a traditional keyboard for ease of use.
We began this one-to-one program just three years ago with our 6th grade class. It has been expanded each year since then, and since the 2017-18 school year it has included grades 6th through 12th. The one-to-one program greatly enhances the resources that teachers and students can access for instruction and learning. The Chromebooks are used throughout the day for research, review of material, creating documents and presentations, maintaining portfolios and more.
